Established in 1858, the institution achieved university status in 1992 and joined the cohort known as Post‑92 universities. Created by the Further and Higher Education Act of 1992, these universities are celebrated for their hands‑on teaching style and strong industry partnerships.

Teaching on my course
Theme 1 of the UK’s National Student Survey asks final year students to rate the teaching they have experienced on their course.
